FAQ

About this tool.

Do I need my birth time?

No — a date alone works, and gives you the colours of your birth weekday’s ruling planet. Adding a time and place gives a more personal answer, from your birth nakshatra. We always tell you which of the two we used, because they are different claims.

Why does being born before sunrise change the answer?

Because the Vedic day begins at sunrise, not midnight. Someone born at four in the morning on a Tuesday still belongs to Monday’s lord. With only a date we can’t know which side of dawn you fell on, so we say so. With a time and place, we compute the actual sunrise and settle it.

Are these colours meant to be worn, or used in a room?

Both, and the tool gives concrete examples of each. In practice the colours do more work as a wall, a textile or a finish you live with daily than as a shirt you wear occasionally.

What if my Moon is right on a boundary?

Then we won’t claim a nakshatra we can’t verify. The tool falls back to the weekday basis and tells you why, rather than picking whichever side looks better.

Colours are one thread of a much larger cloth.

How a palette works in your actual rooms depends on light, orientation and what each space is for. That’s a conversation, not a form.
